Lessons of Preparation from Esther: How to Win Favor with the King

In September I attended the Light the Fire Conference in Pensacola hosted by Christ for the Nations because it was a confirmation of what I felt a year prior. I felt like God was about to do something like the Revival that took place in Brownsville years ago. The conference was powerful and definitely ignited a fire in me to keep pursuing what God had impressed on my heart. At the conference Lou Engle said that in March 2020 he would call a 40 day Jesus Fast worldwide to pray that evangelism would break out around the world. I joined the fast and since a lot has taken place. Now, starting today, he has asked that we intensify our fast by doing the Esther fast for 3 days in light of the virus that has shook many. God has been showing me some things in the book of Esther and I have admired her grace that she carried to win the favor of her king.

Have you felt like you are on a brink of something? Have you said in your heart “there must be more?!” I would like to share with you some tips that has lead me into some love encounters with the Lord for the last few months. These love encounters have made me at peace inside and has validated how much God loves me and His people. This will be needed to protect your heart from the trials that you are going to face here on earth and will gird you for the work God has for you up ahead.

In December I heard a few words that would be important for the coming months: Productivity, Precision, Promises and Preparation. Preparation is very important if we want to be successful in our journey here on earth. Preparation shows God that we want to seek understanding instead of just desiring stuff from Him. We must ask ourselves, what is our King like and what is His desire? When you come like this in prayer, your relationship will give you everything you need and more. Who has a stronger relationship with a king, his queen or his servant? Esther was crowned as queen because she demonstrated something. What are we demonstrating?

Let’s look at some things about our King.

What is He like? What are his attributes? These can be found in Jeremiah 9:24; Matthew 11:29; Deuteronomy 31:8

God of Meekness

God of Humility

God of Kindness

God of Justice

God of Righteousness

God of Faithfulness

What does our King desire in His Bride?

  • Beauty (Esther took 12 months to be purified and beautified for the king. We must be anointed by the Holy Spirit everyday, as it gives us access to the throne and is our seal of approval. We want to be a sweet fragrance to His nostrils.)

  • Holy Apparel (Take off your dirty clothes and put on your royal garments, ready for service. This is done by letting go of everything that is carnal and earthly in you. Even though Esther was in an earthly king’s palace she knew who her true King was and where her allegiance belonged. She put on her royal garments and stood in the inner court, so when the king sat on his throne, he would see her and invite her in.) 2 Corinthians 5:12; Colossians 3:1-17; Revelations 16:12-15

  • Fellowship (The love of our King towards us draws us to Him and we find life & favor in His presence. The golden scepter was extended to Esther because she was accepted by him and he asked her what her request was. He said he would give her what ever she wanted to the half of the Kingdom.) 2 Corinthians 5:14; Proverbs 16:15

Pray into this knowledge and ask for the right things for your future. Jennifer Eivaz just gave a word about how this spirit of coronavirus is little and not as big as society is making it. She said it is important to have a vision & plan because without a vision the people perish. We can’t rely on others to hear God for us. It’s time for spiritual maturity and awakening to all God has available to us. Check out my blog “How to lay hold of the new God has for you.” It will help you develop your plan this year as your faith is growing to see something new happen in your life and those around you. Who knows if you were born for such a time as this? Take advantage of the time and release what God has put in you. Stay encouraged!
