Open The Eyes Of My Heart Lord

By what eyes are we looking at the world? Is it ours, our parents, our teachers, our friends or God’s eyes? Depending on what eyes you see out of, will determine how you live. John 10:10 TPT says, the thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect,, life in its fullness until you overflow! If you focus on what God’s agenda is for you, which is to give you a full life, you won’t be clouded by what the thief’s agenda is for you. Though life gets messy, hard and confusing when you know what God’s original intent is, you won’t let life’s troubles get the best of you because you will know that is not your final destination.

I spend a lot of time reflecting over what’s wrong with the world or my life and find when I do this my heart gets weak and I become unmotivated to do anything because I feel helpless. On the other hand, when I read the Word, when I watch other people doing what God has called them to do and reflect on the goodness of God I feel motivated and happy that God has chosen me. I ask myself why is it so hard to keep pressing forward when things get rough and it seems like every time I’m breaking through more resistance knocks me back further than I progressed forward? It is simply because I am not viewing the situation with the eyes of God, but with my natural eyes.

We cannot understand spiritual things with our natural intellect. We must get into a place with God where we see him working in any and every circumstance of our life, whether it is positive or negative. Deuteronomy 30:11-14 says “For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it. God has given us a choice to do what He has called us to do and it is found right in what we declare out of our mouths and believe in our hearts. It is not in this far off land or even in Heaven, where it is unreachable. We must pray it right out of our hearts because God has put it there (Ecclesiastes 3:1). We must pray that God would open the eyes of our hearts that we would perceive (become aware) of His presence and His hand in our lives day by day.

Are you filling your schedule and the empty places of your heart with unhealthy things and people? Are you unaware of your assignment and your value in the earth? Purpose in your heart today to let go of those things/mindsets and separate yourself to God. Search God’s scriptures and get with people who know Him like you desire to know Him. When you do this you will realize what fullness and overflow looks like. Your eyes will open to a whole new realm of possibilities. Let go of every weight and sin that has set you back and enter into the joy of the Lord.
