Winning the War Within: Identifying the Enemy in Me
How is a strong, independent minded, and economically thriving country brought down by its weaker counterpart without being confronted by obvious means such as violence and war?... It is brought down from WITHIN its own society. A Prussian military theorist by the name of Clausewitz once wrote in his book "On War," "when taking control or destroying a country from within, the key is to attack and control the mind of the inhabitants." He implies, "you must shape the way people view life and the values upon which their life is based." What battle have you been losing over and over to the enemy? Could it be possible that an inside man is responsible for the breach in your spirit? Could it be possible that the fleshly nature inside you is still alive and making agreements with the enemy behind your back? The flesh has to be kept under subjection daily. If kept alive it will infiltrate our thought process, our moral complex, and ultimately influence our behaviors against what we believe in God.
2 Corinthians 10:3-6 says, "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled."
Our war is not fleshly, it is spiritual. It is a spiritual fight for government and power over mankind. It is a war for our minds which is attached to our spirit. Whoever has control over our mind whether our spirit or our flesh can rule it.
The bible says a mind governed by the flesh is death, but a mind governed by the spirit is life and peace (Romans 8).
We have to spend time with the Holy Spirit in order to be spiritually minded. We must be so focused on our position and stance in the spirit that we can easily detect falsehood.
This causes for greater training of righteousness (discerning evil from good).
The flesh is not redeemable. It is corrupt at its core….
I know it’s a hard pill to swallow. How can something in me be corrupt?
Well it started in Genesis.
2 Corinthians 10:6 says we must be ready to revenge all disobedience. In Genesis it was DISOBEDIENCE that was the DOWNFALL of mankind, which is still reaping death today.
This is the one thing God says we must take vengeance upon.
We can no longer tolerate it within ourselves. Disobedience must be brought down.
Let’s search our hearts today and ask the Lord to reveal any willful or unknown disobedience to His will and plan for our lives.
